Description
The H.B. Plant Railroad Historical Society is pleased to announce their 18 th Annual Train Show and Swap Meet will be held at the John Trinkle Building on the Plant City Campus of Hillsborough Community College. There will be over 100 vendor talbles filled with model railroad items for sell or trade. Vendors will have N, HO, 0-27 and G gauge merchandise for sell, as well as, historical photos will be available for purchase.

The club will have operating layouts in HO, N and 0-27 (possibly G gauge). The Greater Florida Lego Train Club will have their operating Lego Trains and a kid's table with Lego for the kids to play with. The Florida Chapter of Morse Code Operators will be displaying a working telegraph and explain to those in attendance how the railroads utilized the telegraph and Morse Code "The First Internet". Keith Marr from Operation Lifesaver will be on hand to teach railroad facts and safety. Keith will be giving two Lifesaver presnetations throughout the day.

Robert West a railroad illustrator will be on hand to sign his newly released painting "Plant City Memories" at the show. The painting depicts Plant City during the mid 50's with the Historic State Thearte, an Alantic Coastline Engine and Hot Rods in downtown Plant City. Robert will personally sign painting purchased from him.

The Historic Plant City Train Depot will be open for visitation, as well in downtown Plant City.


The club will also provide a dining car with our "World's Famous" version of Plant City Strawberry Shortcake! Yum! We also will have soft drinks, donuts, hot dogs, chips and sloppy joes available for purchase at the show.

This is going to be an exciting and active event! Come join us! We look forward to seeing you there!
