Tsunami TSU-4664N Digital Sound Decoder

This plug and play digital sound decoder is a snap to install in your Athearn N-Scale Challenger! Two sockets on the circuit board for both power and speaker connections eliminate all but soldering two wires to the speaker from the installation process. Simply plug the Athearn power harness into the 5-pin receptacle and connect the speaker wires from the already installed speaker to the supplied harness.

This Tsunami plug and play decoder brings the finest 16-bit sound to your small but powerful N-Scale Challenger with incredible ease! The TSU-4664N measures 2.88” x 0.69” x 0.31”, has a 1AMP maximum motor stall current, and 4 function outputs with a function current of 100mA (each output).

The TSU-4664N can produce over 22 sound effects, including the bell, whistle, airpump, dynamo, snifter valve, injectors, firebox blower, side rod clank, brake squeal, exhaust chuff and more. Pull up to the water tank and activate the Water Stop effect - a steam engine won't get far without water! The TSU-4664N also includes all of our 'Fireman Fred' sound effects, such as shoveling coal, greasing the rods, using the injectors, and more!

Advanced Motor Control

SoundTraxx has designed our Hyperdrive™ technology into the Tsunami TSU-4664N, resulting in smooth and precise locomotive operation. The motor controller compromises nothing, and includes the use of high frequency PWM and load compensation. In addition to these features, Hyperdrive includes High Resolution Speed Steps and Torque Control, all designed to improve the running characteristics of your locomotive.

Brilliant Lighting Effects

Tsunami TSU-4664N decoders include four outputs for SoundTraxx' Hyperlight lighting effects, which reproduce the light patterns of many popular warning beacons in exacting detail. All Tsunami decoders provide “Rule 17” lighting control. Now you can independently turn on the headlight and backup light, as well as dim the lights for oncoming trains.
