Titan News
We are pleased to announce that the Titan-U decoders are in stock and we will commence shipping in several weeks. We apologize for the delays and appreciate all who have been patient and expressed overwhelming interest in this new, exciting technology.
The delivery sequence for the Titan-Us is as follows (see below for the complete schedule):
UP Turbine
All Steam Files
GE Diesels
Baldwin Diesels
Alco Diesels
EMD Diesels
Our testing of the UP Turbine has been very impressive and the new stereo output is a quantum leap over the Titan's monotone predecessors and other competing products. For the Turbine, by directing and balancing the stereo output to speakers fore and aft we positioned the sounds exactly where they should be, with the horns up front, the diesel helper outback and the Turbine, amidships. You literally have to hear this compared to the mono versions to appreciate the significant difference stereo makes. Many folks have been skeptical or laughed at the stereo as a gimmick, the real thing proves unquestionably otherwise.
If you think about it, there are many other prototype stereo options like; articulated steam, dual prime movers, even (F) units can have a speaker up front for the horns and one aft for the prime mover.
In view of the delays we have updated the entire Titan series release schedule that was posted with the initial press release:

Titan Plug-In Replacements For All QSI Factory Diesels
Here is an opportunity for the over 300,000 purchasers of factory equipped QSI sound locomotives made by Atlas, Broadway Ltd, Proto 2000 and Intermountain to upgrade to the new advanced “TITAN” DC/DCC sound decoders. See TITAN feature list.
Most of the original factory installed sound diesel locomotives used the same special format circuit board SD (small diesel), that was screw mounted to the chassis. For simple wiring there were 6 convenient mating plugs for all connections, see wiring diagram below. This facilitates and simplifies the circuit board replacements. Even modelers with limited skills will be able to do the circuit board substitution.
Examples of the QSI SD (small diesel) decoder installed in factory locomotives.
The ordering process and/or determining what specific sound files you need is straightforward. The Item ID includes the prefix Titan-SD followed by the sound file number that was used on the factory equipped locomotives. See the list below:
Examples
The Atlas SD24 P/N (ho111) designation is: Titan-SD-ho111
The Proto 2000 GP20 (ho130) designation is: Titan-SD-ho130
The numbers (hoXXX) designate the specific software ID for the original factory locomotives. The sound file number can also be determined by a read back of the decoder’s information by both DC and DCC users. See this and this document (both PDF files).
Please note that the sound file numbers on the list below are for reference and correlation only. QSI Solutions will convert the numbers to the new Titan Sound Set IDs.
The Titan-SD DC/DCC replacement sound and power decoders will be available in late July or in early August. MSRP: $119.95.
