Digitrax has introduced decoders designed to fit Atlas (HO) and Kato N and HO diesel locomotives with similar light boards. The design of these new decoders have made installing them a very easy job. The N scale decoder for Kato does not require any frame modification or soldering. Just remove the shell and existing light board, open the frame, apply tape to isolate the motor, reassemble the frame, plug in the decoder and you are finished. Similar easy installation for the Atlas HO (just replace the existing light boards with the new ones), and Kato HO (some minor additional work required due to the lights on the circuit boards). The decoders have four Real FX functions, two and four digit addressing, V-start, V-mid, and V-max.
